From October 22-26, cycle alongside Israel’s injured veterans through southern Israel and Jerusalem on Courage in Motion 2018.

Courage in Motion (CIM) sees approximately 100 international cyclists ride alongside Israel’s injured veterans, victims of terror, and members of the country’s national cycling team. This year’s ride takes place from October 22 to 26, 2018.

The Beit Halochem Canada, Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel initiative, now in its 11th year, is a significant fundraiser, supporting both the purchase of equipment and facilitating programming at Israel’s five state-of-the-art Beit Halochem rehabilitation centres. Participants’ fundraising also enables the Centres’ disabled members to participate in this remarkable experience.

For five days, cyclists ride approximately 50 – 120 kilometres daily, choosing from five fully supported routes of varying degrees of challenge. Each route offers stunning views of Israel’s lush landscapes and remarkable historic and archaeological sites from the magnificent views of the Mitzpe Ramon Crater to the rugged beauty of the Dead Sea through the lush green hills of Jerusalem.

Lisa Levy is both Beit Halochem Canada’s Executive Director and an annual CIM participant. She said, “Year after year, international cyclists return. They come back to challenge themselves as well as to see their friends, people they shared CIM with in previous years. Many of these cyclists term the ride an incredible, life-affirming experience, one that they need to repeat.”

Delicious meals and nutritious snacks are provided throughout the event. Group activities follow each day’s ride including a night walking tour of Jerusalem and an extraordinary evening with Israel’s heroes who share their personal stories of strength, determination, and triumph.
