As part of their graduation experience, the Grade 8 class of The Leo Baeck Day School planned a School-Wide Tzedakah Project in support of Beit Halochem, a rehabilitation centre for Israeli Veterans. As we mark the 50th anniversary of the Six Day War, the value of organizations like this one is especially prominent. The students raised $630!

For their Tzedakah Project, the Grade 8s ran a “Spring Cleaning” Day during which they offered many cleaning services, including:

  • A car wash during drop-off and an opportunity to buy coffee
  • A locker and/or backpack cleanup
  • A shoe shine
  • A screen clean for all devices
  • Cleaning up (braiding) your hair
  • Even hand-washing with designer soaps!

On behalf of our disabled heroes in Israel, we thank the Grade 8 class at Leo Baeck making this tzedakah project so successful.
