The Tel Aviv Beit Halochem women’s goalball team won the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games in Seoul in May 2015, assuring a place in the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
Goalball is a team sport designed specifically for blind athletes, who use the sound of a bell to determine the position and movement of the ball. The game was s a demonstration sport at the 1976 Summer Paralympics in Toronto, and later became the first Paralympic sport designed exclusively for disabled players.
Beit Halochem Canada supports the goalball activities in Tel Aviv.
