Here is the incredibly moving story of Gal Ganon, a Nahal Infantry Brigade fighter wounded on the second week of the fighting during “Operation Protective Edge” in the summer of 2014.  After only nine hours in hospital he insisted on being allowed to go to his best friend’s funeral.  He had already lost two of his comrades in battle but couldn’t leave to take part in their funerals as he was in the midst of fighting.  A few hours after he himself arrived at Tel Hashomer hospital, his third buddy was killed, and he said he wouldn’t forgive himself for the rest of his life if he missed his funeral.

A few weeks later Gal made his first visit to the Beit Halochem Centre in Tel Aviv, together with 80 others.
